Joseph John Janukites, 89, of Fenelton, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1935, in Worthington, to the late Peter Janukites and Sarah (Spiker) Elder.
Joseph retired from Moonlight Mushroom Mines and as a janitor at Clearfield Elementary School. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington and the Worthington Lions. Joseph was the best pap ever, an avid gardener, bird feeder and watcher.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Russ) Baptiste, of Butler; grandson, Sam, Jr. (Stephanie) Barnes, of Fenelton; granddaughter, Jessica Barnes, of Michigan; daughter, Julie (Johnny) Compton, of Fenelton; grandson, Adam (Tiffany) Compton, of West Sunbury; grandson, Ian (Laurel) Compton, of Butler; granddaughter, Natalie (Keith) Crissman, of Butler; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor, Guadalupe, Westly, Makayla, Adley and Lily; and great-great-granchildren: Brooklyn, Aydrian, and Rain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet Ethel (Hotz) Janukites; Joe was the last of his siblings.
Friends will be received on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington, from 2 p.m. until the time of a service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Will Moser officiating.
Interment is in the Worthington Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Joseph's honor to the Worthington Lions Club or the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington.
