Joseph E. Knappenberger, 85, of Worthington, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at home. He was born March 30, 1936, in Kittanning, to the late Norwood and Ruth (McCraken) Knappenberger. Joseph was a truck driver for more than 40 years and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He attended Grace Point Community Church in Slate Lick. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to Canada, with his boat. He loved to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan M. (Gamble) Knappenberger; children: Lawn and Amy Knappenberger, of Ford City, John (Cheri) Crissman, of Leechburg and Susan Foster, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Kirsten, Martina, Derek, Natasha, Adam, Aaron, Alex and Andrea; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie (Jim) Wilson, of Worthington. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Renee Knappenberger; and first wife, Wilma Knappenberger. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment is in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
