Joseph Wilson Obituary

Joseph Clark Wilson, 86, of Worthington passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Quality Life Services at Sugarcreek.

Born on November 9, 1938, he grew up on the family farm with his parents, Bruce and Laura Wilson, and his siblings: Eleanor (Blaney), James (Jim) and Donald (Dick), all of whom preceded him in death. He is likely catching them up on all the news.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Blackburn) whom he married on September 2, 1958. She will fondly remember him for the family that they raised and the home they built together. Also surviving are his four daughters: Arleen (Ralph) Milliron of Sarver, Lori Stanfield of Worthington, Lynn Kistler of Bellevue, and Bonnie Depew of Sandy Lake. They will remember their dad for the amazing feat of raising four girls with one bathroom and many answered calls of “Dad, how do I fix….?’

Joe is also survived by ten grandchildren: Jon Jenkins, Dan Kistler, Heather Kistler, Amy Stanfield, Joe Milliron, Marc Kistler, Paul Milliron, Amber Depew, Ashley Propheter, and Nicholas Depew. In addition to the grandchildren, he is survived by five great grandchildren. They will remember their Pap for always pulling their leg and giving rides on his tractor.

Joe held many positions with various employers over the years, but most enjoyed when he was selling or working on John Deere equipment, and working on farm equipment. In the 1980s, he and Kathie owned Wilson Tractor Service in Worthington.

Joe and Kathie hosted Fourth of July picnics for over 20 years for their family and friends, where Joe served his famous homemade ice cream. Some years they made as many as 15 gallons of ice cream for their guests.

Joe became a Christian thanks to the witness of his friend Scott Bailey, with whom he is likely catching up in conversation with now. Joe was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler. Over the years, he served as a deacon and an elder, and various other committees. He enjoyed several trips traveling with the Men’s Ministry to do work with Habitat for Humanity. Prior to attending Westminster, Joe was a founding member of Slate Lick Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Friends and family will be received from 12-1 pm followed by a Memorial Service and luncheon at 1 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Worthington Presbyterian Church.
