June English Obituary

June Alberta (Rhoades) English, 83, of Worthington, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  She was born July 12, 1940 in Kittanning, the second daughter of Richard and Esther (Rodgers) Rhoades.  She grew up in Worthington with older sister Judith and younger brother, Donald.  She was a 1958 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School.

After high school she married John "Jack" English.  Over the next few years, they welcomed a son, John "Eric" and a daughter, Robin.  The young family moved out West to California where they spent the next 20 plus years.  June became an avid bowler with her and Jack participating in leagues and winning many tournaments.  She also had a passion for sewing and creativity.  She was a talented seamstress/dresssmaker, and enjoyed doll making and creating a variety of other crafts.  The early 90's brought June and Jack back to Worthington where they lived out the remainder of their lives among family and friends.

June is survived by her sister, Judith (Rhoades) Toy of Fenelton; her brother, Don Rhoades of Worthington; son, John (Ann) English of Worthington; daughter, Robin (Jim) Schwartz, formerly of Kittanning; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Jack (July 9, 2000).

Per June's request, there will be no public viewing or funeral, with only a private gravesite service being held at a later date at Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of Maple Hall at QLS Sugarcreek for their compassionate care.
