Karen Iren Burkett, 56, of Ford City, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at ACMH Hospital. She was born Jan. 16, 1965, in Kittanning, to the late Paul A. Burkett, Sr. and Mary E. (Johns) Burkett and was a lifelong resident of the community. She was a nurse’s aide. Karen was of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed playing BINGO and slot machines, family gatherings, traveling, animals and her pets, especially dogs and cats. Karen was very kind-hearted, she would do anything for anybody. She loved to tell jokes and laugh and was always the life of the party. Survivors include her brother, Floyd (Robin) Burkett, of Ford City; brother, Thomas (Glenda) Burkett, of South Carolina; companion, DJ Zanetti, of Ford City; nephews: Andrew Burkett, of Ford City, Joshua Crawford, of Ford City and David Crawford, of Pittsburgh; niece, Katelyn Burkett, of Manorville; and great-nephew, Degan Crawford, of Ford City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Jr. and Lloyd G. Burkett. Private services were held at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery in Distant, Pa.
