Kathleen (Toy) Shirley

Kathleen (Toy) Shirley, 95, of Ford City, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 28, 2024 in the company of her loving family.  She was born December 9, 1928 in Adrian, Pa., the daughter of the late Austin and Ruth Toy.  She was a lifelong resident of the community, formerly living in West Kittanning.  She was a homemaker.  Kathleen enjoyed baking, crocheting and needle work, reading, working crosswords, and taking care of her birds and dog, "Tiny".  

She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her son, John Shirley (Brenda), of Eastanollee, Georgia; son, Joe Shirley, of Kittanning; daughter, Mary Shirley, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; son, Danny Shirley (Cindy), of Kittanning; son, Alan Shirley (Annette), of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; daughter, Kimberley Shirley (Nick), of Ford City; brother, William Heginbotham; 13 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, James Shirley; son, James Shirley; brothers, Ralph Toy, Eugene Toy, Charles Heginbotham, Wayne Heginbotham, John Heginbotham and James Heginbotham.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 30, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Larry Edwards officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Private interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
