Larry Goldinger Obituary

Larry Wendell Goldinger, 72, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday March 13, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside after a 2 month battle with lung complications. He was born June 18, 1951 at home in Walkchalk to the late Harry and Freda Goldinger.

He was employed at Allegheny Ludlum, and Armstrong County Jail in maintenance. He was of the Protestant Faith and past president of the Eagle’s and a member of the mason’s.

Larry loved making and drinking coffee while watching TV (News, Jeopardy, CSI/NCIS/Law & Order, Star Trek, Yellowstone, Game of Thrones, Pittsburgh sports and RMU hockey games, and a lot of others, to many to mention.) He could be seen going for walks around Kittanning during his later years, but he would never walk with his wife as he tried to beat his previous time and she liked to stop and talk. Larry could fix anything and had a wealth of handyman knowledge. He was a human You tube on electrical, plumbing, auto mechanic, wood work, framing, door hanging, and many other do it yourself tasks. He remodeled his house and apartments from top to bottom. Larry demanded perfection in his work that would at times frustrate his wife and kids. Larry loved his grandkids and being their “Pap”. They were the light of his life and he showed it when they came around. He did not show much emotion in his life, but he did when his grandkids walked in the room. He was especially proud to share a birthday with his granddaughter Emma. Those who knew him knew they were in for a humorous and story-filled visit. He loved family get-togethers for reunions, picnics (as the grill master), and holidays. Larry was a very generous and caring person; he always made sure that his wife, mother-in-law, children, and the rest of his family were taken care of. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather, and he cherished his time with friends and family. His presence will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Goldinger of Kittanning; son and daughter in law Tim and Jen Goldinger of Pittsburgh; son and daughter in law Chris and Erin Goldinger of White Oak; son Rich Goldinger; sister Alice Benton of Kittanning; sister Louise Steim of Kittanning; sister and brother in law Sharon and Jim Cogley of Kittanning; brother and sister in law David and Karen Kammerdiener of Templeton; brother in law Kevin Kammerdiener of Kittanning; sister in law Suzanne Kammerdiener of Kittanning; grandchildren Emma, Noah, Alexis, Brooklyn, and Irylin Goldinger; mother in law Doris Kammerdiener of Kittanning; many cousins, nephews, nieces, and other grandchildren that he missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Freda Goldinger; sons Kenny and Mike Goldinger; brothers Harry, Donald, and Logan Goldinger; sister Susie Goldinger; still born brother Jackie Lee; father in law Carl Kammerdiener; daughter in law Barb Stull; brother in laws Jim Benton and Bill Steim.

Friends will be received on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M.
