Laurie Ellen (Buck) Johns

Laurie Ellen Johns, a loving mother and the adoring wife to her husband, David Johns, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the age of 61.  Laurie was born on October 12, 1964 in Danville, PA to John and Ellen Buck.  Laurie lived a life that was deeply rooted in faith, family and in service through her work as Director of HAVIN.  Her years were marked by devotion to the people closest to her and by the steady strength she carried through each season of life.  Among the joys she treasured were traveling with her husband and gathering for Sunday dinners with her family.  She will be remembered not only for the roles she fulfilled, but for her favorite phrases that she repeatedly shared with her children and grandchildren: "the ball is in your court."  In those words there was encouragement, wisdom, and a gentle reminder to move forward with courage and responsibility.  Her life spoke of love, togetherness and the blessings of time shared well.  

She is survived by her husband, Dave; her mother, Ellen Buck; her daughters, Heather, Shannon (Michael Miller) and Crista (Stevie Clowser); her son, Matthew (Ashley); her grandchildren, Jacen Kalbaugh, Kyla Clowser, Logan Miller, Kole Clowser, Avah Johns, Karly Clowser, Brentley Johns, Abbygail Miller, Carson Johns, Hudson Johns and Adalyn Johns; her great-grandchild, Genesis Kalbaugh; and her brothers, David and Gary Buck.  Laurie was preceded in death by her father, John Buck.  Laurie's final wish speaks with enduring tenderness: that her loved ones know Jesus.  Her family may find peace and strength in the days ahead, trusting that she is now in her eternal home.  

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, PA with funeral service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Bishop officiating.   Private interment will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Laurie's honor to ACMH Laube Cancer Center or Harvest Community Church.
