Lois R. (Hankey) Febinger, 84, of Kittanning, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Lois was born on September 27, 1935 to the late Elmer and Thelma (Wilhelm) Hankey. She was married to the love of her life, the late Thomas J. Febinger, for 53 years before his passing in 2007. Lois dedicated her life to her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and granddogs, Luna and Poppy to name a few, watching Hallmark movies and game shows and going out for ice cream. Lois enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, with some of the specialties including homemade buns, peanut butter eggs and ham barbeques. She attended Union Avenue United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Thomas E. Febinger and wife Deborah, of Kittanning; four daughters, Donna Shaffer and husband Bruce, and Lori Goepfert, all of Kittanning, Beverly Fyock and husband Ron, and Connie Berry and husband Dan, all of Worthington; eight grandchildren, Corey (Christina Jackson) and Kylie Shaffer, Jason Febinger (fiancé Vanessa Moneymaker), Angie McKain (Ben), Nikki Fyock (fiancé Lee Crissman), Adam Berry, Mallori and Mikayla Goepfert; and one great-grandchild Kaleb McKain; one brother, Ernest Hankey of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Lillian Remaley and Helen Haley; brother, William Hankey; and son-in-law, Ricky Goepfert. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Deb Kociban officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Downe Syndrome Clinic at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
