Lois Ann (Shoemaker) Ferraino

Lois Ann (Shoemaker) Ferraino, 91, of Kittanning, passed away Saturday September 9, 2023 at home. She was born November 21, 1931 in Spaces Corners (Rayburn Township) to the late Thomas James and Clara Louise Ann (Smith) Shoemaker. She married her husband Fred Ferraino Jr. on June 14, 1952.

Lois was a wedding cake baker and homemaker. She graduated from KHS class of 1950. She joined Kittanning Hose Company #6 with her husband and was a past president of the auxiliary, and secretary and treasure. Lois was also a lifetime member of the Western Pennsylvania Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader for Troop #6 and past president of the Little League Auxiliary.

She was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning since 1953. She served on the building committee and fundraising for St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Lois was also a member of the Pine Creek Baptist Church for 21 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and decorating for all holidays.

Lois is survived by her three daughters Debra Ann (Frank) Hurst of Florida, Cynthia Louise (Wayne) Cunningham of Kittanning, and Terri Marie Crouse of Kittanning; three sons Thomas Frank (Crystal) Ferraino of Kittanning, Kenneth Fred (Shelley) Ferraino of Kittanning, and Thomas Damian (Angela) Ferraino of Kittanning; grandsons Nathan, Aaron, and Brandon Cunningham and Patrick, Tyler, and Wyatt Ferraino; granddaughters Theresa (Brandon) Cehily and Taylor Ferraino; great grandsons Gavin and Owen Ferraino; great granddaughter Ava Cunningham; step grandchildren Ethan, Austin, and Desiree; sister in law Jan Shoemaker; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Fred Frank Ferraino on December 11, 1987; her parents; infant sister; brother Freddie and his wife Joan Shoemaker and brother William Shoemaker.

Friends will be received on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home in Kittanning from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday September 13, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with additional visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment is in St. Mary Cemetery in Kittanning.
