LOIS LARRAINE SHAFFER, 74, of Ford City, PA, passed away on November 20, 2025.
Born to S. Peter and Betty (Petrovsky) Fundyga, Lois grew up in Ford City, PA and later moved to Longview, Texas, where she was a proud member of the Viewette Dance Team.
In 1969, twelve hundred miles away from Ford City, Lois met the love of her life, Daniel Shaffer, at a Burger Chef in Longview, Texas. Unbeknownst to her, Dan was from Kittanning! Together, they shared a devoted marriage and were instrumental in founding Miracle Church in Indiana, PA. They also owned and operated the Kittanning Sears store in Franklin Village Mall for more than a decade.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lois is survived by her husband, Daniel; her sons, Jeremy and Joshua (Lucille); her grandchildren, Faith and Joshua; her sister, Susan (Robert) Barto; and her sister-in-law, Jane Fundyga. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Raymond; and her in-laws, Francis and Rhoda Shaffer.
Lois will be remembered for her generous spirit and her creativity. Over the years, she lovingly crafted countless handmade cards, gifts, memory books, and scripture quilts for family and friends. She enjoyed crafting, letter-writing, playing card games with friends, and reading her Bible and devotionals.
An accomplished singer who lived her life for the Lord, Lois also released an album of Christian hymns titled Feed My Sheep. Her love for Jesus was uncompromising.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International (gideons.org) or Miracle Church in Indiana, PA (miraclechurchpa.org).
Arrangements were private and entrusted to Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning, PA. She will be laid to rest at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, PA.
