Mark Charles Colton

Mark Charles Colton, 70, of Ford City, Pa. passed away peacefully at his home in the evening hours of Saturday, September 13th, 2025 after a short, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  At his time of passing, he was surrounded with and loved by family. 

Mark was born April 25th, 1955, he was the son of Vernon (Huck) and Irene Colton. Mark was raised in Pattonville, a small housing community in Manor Township, Pa.  In 1973, Mark proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served 4 years as a Disbursing Clerk onboard USS NEOSHO AO-143. Following completion of his military service in 1977, Mark returned home to Western Pennsylvania where he found employment in 1978 with Armstrong Power Station until his retirement in 2012.  He stayed active with various part time employment, most recently, working for Armstrong County Memorial Hospital as a transporter from 2015 – 2025. 

On the weekends Mark could be found visiting one of the areas Casinos, he enjoyed Horse Racing, Playing Dice and most of all being at a good Poker Table.  Mark shared 30 years with his best friend and life companion Janet Delacour, the love, memories and adventures they shared together will be forever remembered and cherished.

Mark is survived by his devoted Life companion, Janet Delacour, who was by his side, providing motivation, love and strength during the hardest days of Marks battle with cancer.  His children. Greg C. Colton (Bobbie), Brian V. Colton, Keri (Jason), Lacy (Eric). Grandchildren; Caden, Ambree, Molly, Maddie, Morgan and Jack. Brother; David (Jennifer) Colton. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Vernon (Huck) and Irene Colton.

At the family’s request, there will be no public services held, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.  Those wishing to honor Mark may make a donation to The American Cancer Society.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
