Martha worked for the United States Postal Service for 23 years as a rural mail carrier and then as Postmaster in Cowansville. Her love for travel took her to all 50 states. When she wasn't traveling, she enjoyed her Young Ladies Card Club, quilting, playing bingo and trying to hit it big at the casino. Her passion for music was shared through singing her favorite hymns and playing the piano. She was also an avid sports fan and never missed watching a Steeler game or a Pitt game.

Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved, especially her sons. they enjoyed hunting in their family-built tree stands, holiday family gatherings and daily phone conversations.

She also leaves behind her brother James K. Pence (late wife Neva), brother in law Richard Dailey (late wife Peggy) and several loved nieces and nephews.
