Martha A. "Marty" Sappier

Martha A. "Marty" Sappier, 83, of Kittanning, formerly of Indian Township, ME, passed away Thursday February 1, 2024 at Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Kittanning where she resided.

Martha was born March 1, 1940 in Houlton, ME to the late Peter L. and Stella (Tomah) Sappier.

She worked for General Electric in Bridgeport, CT for many years. She returned home to Indian Township in 1977 becoming a homemaker.

Martha Touched many people in her life, leaving lifelong memories. she loved going for rides, going to casinos, and spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Grace Sappier and Georgianna Sappier Richardson; brothers Peter, Ronald, and Hartley Sappier; sons Mark and Gary Mazzadra and Kevin Burhance.

Left to cherish her memories are sons Michael of Guilford, CT, Rickie of New Haven, CT, and Jay Mazzadra of Kittanning, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends Nora Deschaine and Frances Tomah from Indian Township, ME.

The family would like to thank Stacey W, Bo Harmon, and all the staff at Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center; Holly Bills, Pastor Josh, Nurse Tara, and all the staff at Monarch Hospice for their excellent care and compassion for Martha especially in her final hours.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Donald and Joy Bowser for everything they did for Martha.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
