Mary Irene (Frick) Hoffman Obituary

Mary Irene (Frick) Hoffman, 85, a resident of Frogtown, Armstrong County for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026 in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she was able to spend the last six months with her daughter.  Mary was born October 4, 1940 in Armstrong County, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Peg) Frick.  She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.  She was a member of Montgomeryville Baptist Church and in later years attended St. Paul's Community Church.  Mary had a strong faith and served in the Lord in various ways in the church.  She used her talents in many ways.  She enjoyed baking, especially her wonderful pies and cookies, bowling in her Wednesday morning ladies league and square dancing at Wildlife Country Club.  She was a long-standing member of the Sugarcreek Ladies Auxiliary.  Mary was also an accomplished seamstress and an avid counted cross stitch enthusiast.  She expressed her love through every stitch.  


Left behind to forever cherish her memory includes her daughters, Sherry Hoffman, of Saratoga Springs, NY and Karen (Hoffman) Wallace, of Livermore, CA; sister, Yetta Getty, of Ford City; brother-in-law, James Hoffman, of Baden, PA; 7 grandchildren, Joseph (Diana) Juracka, Clinton (Gabriella) Juracka and Adriane (Maxwell) Lienau, all of New York, Patrick (Abby) Tack, Levi (Jessica) Tack and Lydia Tack, all of Pennsylvania and Mackenzie Wallace, of Livermore, California; and 5 great-grandchildren, Amelia and Carolyn Juracka, Isla Juracka, Josephine Tack and Everly Lienau.  


In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Hoffman; her daughter, Cheryl Tack and her husband, Andy Tack; mother-in-law, Margaret (Rudy) Nunemaker and father-in-law, George Hoffman; and siblings, Ruth Bonness, Fredrick Frick and Larry Frick.  


Friends will be received on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1-4 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 E. Brady Rd., Cowansville, Pa.  Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Community Church, 2167 St. Rt. 268, Chicora, Pa. on Monday, June 29 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Samuel Swick officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service.  Interment will be in Montgomeryville Baptist Church Cemetery in Adrian, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to Camp Judson, 398 Holliday Rd., North Springfield, PA 16430.
