Mary (Capone) Lasher, 90, of West Kittanning, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at QLS Sugar Creek Personal Care Home. Born in Armstrong County Hospital on Feb. 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Denardo) Capone. She attended Faith United Presbyterian Church. Mary started her career at Nolte Chevrolet in Kittanning. After moving to Allison Park, PA she was employed at Don Royal Cleaners as a bookkeeper. Then, 15 years later, after moving back to Kittanning she went back to work at Nolte Chevrolet. Mary loved volunteering at ACMH hospital and the election polls. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary at the West Kittanning Fire Department. She also was an auditor for West Kittanning Borough. Mary enjoyed bowling in a league and listening to Neil Diamond. She looked forward to family gatherings and loved to feed everyone. Her loved ones will fondly remember her always saying “finish and eat.”
Survivors include her sons, James (Diane) Lasher, of Alexandria, Virginia and Randall (Donna) Lasher, of Ford City; grandchildren, Rebecca Lasher and fiancé, Bill Quinn, of Baden, Pa, Abigail Lasher, of Pittsburgh and James Lasher, of Beaver Falls, Pa; step grandchildren, William Kesler (Ashley), of Vandergrift and Nicholas Kesler, of Glastonbury, CT; great-grandchildren, Aria Rumbaugh-Lasher, of Beaver Falls, Pa and William Quinn III, of Baden, Pa; step great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Crosby and Pheonix Kesler, of Vandergrift; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lasher; brothers, George and Tony Capone; and her sister, Tina Totos.
Friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, PA. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
