Mary Lynn (Johnston) Bowser, passed away on March 24, 2025 after a brief but brave battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Mary and Ralph Johnston who preceded her in death.
Mary Lynn was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in 1976. She was hired at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital where she worked in maternity. During her career she helped deliver and care for literally thousands of babies. More than a few of those deliveries were difficult and life threatening. It's a testament to her skill , dedication and knowledge that people walk the Earth today that might not be if not for her.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Corbin David Bowser. Together they formed a formidable team that accomplished every goal they set for themselves. Also surviving are their two children in whom she took great pride; daughter Kendra Lynn (Bowser) Miller who followed her mother into nursing and is now an organ transplant co-ordinator for the VA Hospital System, and their son, Gregg Corbin Bowser who is lead senior Enviromental Scientist for Booz Allen where he serves as a consultant to FEMA and Homeland Security.
Also surviving her are the two little shining lights of her life, her granddaughters Miriam Joy Miller who inherited Nana's dark red hair and Autumn Lynn Bowser who has Nana's bright blue eyes.
Dave, Kendra, and Gregg would like to thank the family friends and many healthcare professionals who helped Mary Lynn fight and then later helped her find comfort we are indebted to you all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to Lungevity.org
