Mary Mildred Nieder (Emminger) of Erie, Pennsylvania (formerly of Kittanning, PA) passed away on Thursday January 7, 2021 in her residence .She was born on December 18, 1929. Mildred (Millie) passed peacefully at home following a long illness. She spent her final years being lovingly cared for by her devoted granddaughter, Shannon J. Briggs.
Millie loved her family passionately and was just as passionately loved by her family and all who were blessed to know her. She had a great sense of humor and her fun-loving, child-like view of life delighted everyone. She loved spending time with her family, going to Bingo, playing cards (especially 500 Bid),visiting Las Vegas with loved ones, visiting casinos, and watching her favorite game shows.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Catherine (Arble) Carley, her husbands, Emmett B. Emminger and James E. Nieder, her infant daughter, Patricia Lynn Emminger, her sisters, Margaret (Wright) and Evelyn Klingensmith and brother James Ryan and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by sons; James Eugene (Patricia) Emminger of Port Richey, Florida and David Emmett (Rose) Emminger of Edinburg, Pennsylvania, and by one daughter, Susan Jayne Emminger of Meadville, PA. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Kalamaras of New Jersey.
She is also survived by grandchildren James Jimmy (Amy), Michael Emminger, Robert (Bobby) Glenn Emminger, Eric Ross Emminger, Shaun Emmett Emminger, Jonathon(Jon) David (Christine) Emminger and Lorainne Michele (Landry) Emminger-Arnold, all of Homosassa and Springhill, Florida. Briggs, and Danielle Watson of Erie and Meadville Pennsylvania, and by several nieces and nephews, 16 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
Mildred (Millie) grew up in Kittanning, PA, where she lived until 1969. She worked at Isaly’s Icecream Parlor and Moonlight Mushroom Farms in Kittanning and then Mercyhurst College as well as GTE in Erie where she retired.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning for many years and is a member of Holy Rosary Church in Erie.
Family & friends will be received on Monday January 11, 2021 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean St., Kittanning, PA 16201 from 11:00am until time of funeral services at 1:00pm with Rev. Ronald Maquinana officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
