Michael Anthony DiStanislao, 35, of Harrisburg, Pa, formerly of Kittanning, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Born February 25,1986, he was the son of Nancy Bredon DiStanislao and Richard Anthony DiStanislao, of Harrisburg, PA. Also surviving is his three loving sisters: Christa DiStanislao Hood, (James Hood), of Lexington Park, MD, Sarah DiStanislao Stark, of Camp Hill, PA, and Julianna DiStanislao Reiber, (Jason Reiber), of Parksville, MD; and two young nephews, Oliver Stark and Elijah Reiber.
Born and raised in Kittanning, PA, a graduate of Kittanning High School, Michael has lived in Harrisburg, PA for last 14 years. Employed as an assistant plumber with Bob Means Plumbing. Formerly employed with as a contract house painter for 5 years, and also worked as an assistant chef at Stocks on Second for 5 years previous.
While growing up in Kittanning, he loved the active sports – skateboarding, snowboarding, bicycle motocross racing, swimming, and hockey. He loved spending time with his friends at Buttermilk Falls. Upon moving to Harrisburg, he continued his outdoor pursuits and would often ride his motorcycle. While living in Harrisburg, he would return frequently to Kittanning to be with his friends.
Michael loved spending time with family members and visited with them often. He especially enjoyed holiday times when there were large family events, with cousins, uncles, and aunts, doing storytelling, cooking special meals, which he often helped prepare. Each year he joined his sisters and their families for a “Siblings Week-end” held at some special destination location.
Michael was single, never married, and became a fantastic uncle, doting on his nephews. He was like an uncle to the family of several of his really good friends.
There will be a special celebration of Michael’s life where all family and friends will be invited, to be held at a later date.
