Myrna Mae (Barnhart) Steffey, 93, of Kittanning was born to Arthur Barnhart and Elizabeth (Smith) Barnhart on February 9, 1933, and cared for by Victor Boarts and Ethel (Barnhart) Boarts through her youth. Myrna was the sister to Walter Barnhart, Arthur Dale Barnhart, Betty Brody and Marlene Grey. Myrna graduated from Kittanning High School in 1951 and attended Furnace Run Chapel. She married Jack Ronald Steffey on August 16, 1952, and together raised their children Beverly, Ronald, Kathy and Patricia.
Myrna Steffey lived her life with gentle gratitude, spending her days serving others with quiet strength, kindness, and grace. She will be remembered for her steady presence—always being there and putting others first.
The Steffey home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family and friends gathered and memories were made. Myrna’s humble recipes connected multiple generations with love and comfort. She showed her loved ones the meaning of selflessness, the importance of family, and the beauty of a compassionate life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
