Nelda Lucille (Hollenbaugh) Snyder

Nelda Lucille (Hollenbaugh) Snyder, 68, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in Kittanning Care Center. 

She was born in Kittanning on June 5, 1955 to the late Ernest and Wilda Hollenbaugh. 

Nelda lived in the area her whole life and was a 1973 graduate of Dayton High School. She previously worked for Jamesway. Nelda was most proud of being a housewife and mother. 

She was a faithful member of the Dayton United Methodist Church. Nelda also was a member of the Grange Lodge in Dayton. 

She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching TV with her dog Snowflake and in her earlier years she liked bowling and going out for pizza at Charley’s Place. 

Left behind to forever cherish her memory are her brother, Dale (Michele) Hollenbaugh; aunts, Pauline Orvis and Isabelle Hollenbaugh, numerous supportive cousins, nephews, Joshua Hollenbaugh and Cory Forrest, niece, Brooke Forrest, best friend, Judy Walter and her brother-in-law, Bob (Mary Anne) Snyder. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Snyder, her son, Matthew Snyder, and her grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Hollenbaugh 

Family and friends of Nelda Snyder will be received on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean Street, Kittanning, PA 16201 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Additional viewing will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 in the Dayton United Methodist Church, 105 East Church Avenue, Dayton, PA 16222 from 10am until time of funeral services at 11:00am with Rev. Barry Ritenour officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery.
