Nicholas Sylvester Cymbol, 43, of Dayton, PA passed away on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehab. Center in Butler. Born on May 26, 1979 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, he was the son of Nicholas E. Cymbol and Linda M. Podobensky. He lived in Dayton for 35 years as well as Port Charlotte, Florida for 6 years. Prior to being disabled, Nicholas worked at Chili’s Restaurant. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sagamore and Dayton United Methodist Church. He was an auxiliary member of Shannock Valley VFW Post 6555 in Sagamore, Pa. Nicholas loved to play pool, go fishing, Playstation, listen to music and watch movies. He also enjoyed riding side-by-side’s with his brother-in-law, cooking, cookouts, camp fires, tinkering around in his garage with his Ranger, anything with his niece, BINGO, and playing cards with friends at Sunnyview. He loved monkeys, Great Danes, Jeeps, trains, his Ford Ranger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Nicholas leaves behind to forever cherish his memory his father, Nicholas E. Cymbol and wife, Dolly, of Port Charlotte, FL; mother, Linda M. Podobensky, of Ford City; sister, Melinda M. Brown and husband, Thomas, of NuMine, PA; beloved niece, Hailey M. Mergen, of NuMine, PA; aunts, Theresa (Gary) Clark, of Louisa, VA, Martha Rhodes, of Arnold, PA and Jean Tatrn, of Lower Burrell, PA; uncle, Ches (Lois) Kapalka, of Saxonburg, PA; step-sister, Chrissy (Bill) Ritrosky, of Cowansville, PA; and nephew, Tyler W. Brown, of NuMine, PA.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Martha Cymbol; maternal grandparents, John and Georgia Elkin; uncles, Bob Tatrn and Dick Rhodes; aunt, Norma Fraser and uncle Joe; aunt, Cora Elkin; uncle, Dave Elkin; pappy Rick Huller; and fur-son/dog, “Hank”.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with funeral service to immediately follow at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, PA with Pastor Jason McQueen officiating. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nicholas’ name can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
