Norman Paul Bennett Sr., 81, of Applewold, passed away Sunday September 29, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1943 to the late Russell and Permilda (Bowser) Bennett. Norman was a resident of Applewold for over thirty years and was often seen walking with his companion, his dog "Puddles". During his lifetime he was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 655, an active member of the East Franklin Township Fire Department, and a member of the Cadogan Sportsmen's Club. He shared 60 years of marriage with his wife Janet whom he married October 12, 1961.
Norman and Janet had five children together: Lisa Copenhaver, Donna Hall, Valerie Tarr, Norman (Jessica) Bennett Jr., and the late Christine Bennett. They had nine grandchildren: Keith, Blake, Joey, Jessica, Sarah, Emily, Zachary, Drew, and Jasmine; and ten great-grandchildren: Karleigh, Johnny, Zoey, Ava, Millie, Kolten, Kendall, Meelah, Eddie, and Everly. Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; daughter, Christine; parents, Russell and Permilda Bennett; son-in-law, John Copenhaver.
Friends will be received on Wednesday October 2, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 6:00 P.M. with Major Brent Carlson of the Salvation Army officiating. Interment is in the Kittanning Cemetery.
