Paul Richard "Putty" Swast, 93, of Kittanning, died on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Premier Armstrong in Kittanning. He was born August 18, 1932 in Armstrong County, the son of the late Mike and Esther (Stockey) Swast. Paul was a retired mechanic and owner of McAfoose Taxi Co. with his wife. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He belonged to the First Baptist Church in Kittanning and Pine Creek Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed fishing, taking trips to Canada, and hunting. Paul was the last surviving member of his family. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley (McAfoose) Swast, one niece and several nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard P. Swast; his brothers, Marco, George, Andy and Frank Swast; and sisters, Dorothy Naviglia, Mary Sullivan and Paulina Burtges.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 334 Arch St., Kittanning with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Attendees are invited downstairs to the church hall for a luncheon following the service. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Paul's honor to First Baptist Church, 334 Arch St., Kittanning, PA 16201 or Orphans of the Storm, P.O. Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201.
