Phyllis Wiles Obituary

Phyllis Garnet Wiles, 76, of Kittanning, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025 at her home.  The daughter of the late Theodore E. And Gladine V. (Wolfe) Wiles, she was born October 9, 1948 in Butler, Pa.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kittanning.  Phyllis started her working career at The Children's Shop out of high school but her love for animals brought her back to working along side her mother at Orphans of the Storm and opening her grooming business.  She also worked as a groomer at Orphans of the Storm.  She retired from Orphans in 2017 to help care for her mother.  She was a great caregiver and took care of several senior copules as well.  She served on the board of Orphans of the Storm until her passing.  Phyllis loved doing crafts and was an excellent painter.  She and her family traveled doing craft shows for many years.  She enjoyed making baskets for many fundraisers.  She loved baking for her family and friends and did so almost daily.  She provided many baked goods for bake sales and after retirement she sewed many coats for the shelter animals to take home when adopted and to keep warm in the winter.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and spoiling her niece and nephew.  She was a great listener and spent hours talking on the phone with her family and friends.  She will be missed deeply by so many.

She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her brother, Jay A. Wiles, of Kittanning; sister, Bethann Galbraith and husband, Brian, of Kittanning; niece Christi G. Wiles, of Worthington; and nephew, Cody J. Wiles and wife, Mia Ellis, of Penn Hills.  In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Ethel Wolfe and Russell and Bertha Wiles; numerous aunts and uncles; and her beloved pets.

Funeral services will be privately held by the family with interment in Rimersburg Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Phyllis' honor to Orphans of the Storm (Buildng Fund), P.O. Box 838, Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
