Rev. Richard William McCanna, 89, of Adrian, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025 at The Ridge at Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home. He was born Jan. 10, 1936 in Clarington, PA, the son of the late R. Boyd and Kathryn (Burkett) McCanna. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany for 4 years. He was a high school teacher and a pastor. Richard enjoyed reading his Bible daily and flower gardening. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Margy Freeman, of Adrian; granddaughters, Theresa (Ken) Bowser, of Adrian and Angela (Eric) Haye, of Kittanning; great-grandchildren, Catlin (Sarah) Bowser, of Cowansville, Marlee (Brad) Wiles, of Adrian, Ciara (Trevor) Krauchak, of Adrian and Macklin (Savi) Haye, of Slippery Rock; and great-great-grandchildren, Chelyce, Alivia, Ayla, Adelia, Curtis and Walter. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria M. McCanna, who passed away in 2006; and sisters, Miriam Cochran and Karen Wolfe. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Christians With A Vision Church, 142 Lower Limestone Rd., Adrian, PA with Pastor Tim Peate officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville, Pa.
