Richard Lee Beers

Richard Lee Beers, 80, of Kittanning, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.  He was born August 7, 1943 in Kittanning, the son of the late Annabell and Bud Ball and Arthur Beers.  Richard was a welder for over 35 years for Caterpillar and Beckwith Machinery.  He was formerly a member of Family Life Church in Kittanning.  He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Richard also enjoyed woodworking and home remodeling, and staying in touch with friends in Kittanning and Illinois.  He was an active volunteer for Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child.

Left behind to cherish his memory includes his daughter, Madeline Beers, of Ford Cliff and his son, David Beers (Caryl), of Ford Cliff; granddaughters, Rebecca Beers (Seth Evans), of Leechburg and Kristina Hawkins (David), of Ford Cliff; grandson, Christian Beers, of Arnold, PA; and great-granddaughters, Thea Evans, of Leechburg and Ezra Hawkins, of Ford Cliff.  In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Beers; and brother, Edward Beers.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 19, with Pastor Sue Foster officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in Fair Cemetery, Cowansville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Richard’s honor to Orphans of the Storm, P.O. Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201.
