Richard D. Valasek, Sr.

Richard D. Valasek Sr., 73, of Cadogan, Pa. passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Armstrong Rehab. & Nursing Center in Kittanning. He was born May 27, 1950 in Kittanning, to the late John and Mary Valasek. Richard was retired from Asplundh Tree Service. He was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Cadogan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the races and spending time with his grandsons.

Left behind to cherish his memory includes his daughter, Jessica (Jake) Mauthe, of Cadogan; son, Richard D. Valasek Jr., of Oak Ridge; grandsons, Brayden and Bryce Mauthe, of Cadogan; sister, Mary Toy, of Kittanning; brothers, John Valasek Jr., Thomas (Jackie) Valasek and James (Karen) Valasek, all of Kittanning; 2 brothers-in-law and their spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy J. (Martin) Valasek, whom he married on Nov. 10, 1984; and daughter, Karen Valasek.

Friends will be received on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. with Father Edward Volz officiating, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ford City, Pa.
