Richel Jane (Shankle) Van Camp, 75, of Kittanning, died on Thursday, March 6, 2025.  She was born October 13, 1949 in Kittanning, Pa., the daughter of the late Ford W. Shankle, Jr. and Nan Betts (Bowser) Shankle.  Richel was a Biology teacher, working at many schools throughout the county.  She loved nature, caring for her cats and walking.  She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her son, Sequoia Van Camp, of Virginia; sister, Nancy (Pete) Relich, of Kittanning; nephews, Peter Relich III, of Kittanning and Ryan Ford (Amanda) Relich, of Zionsville, Indiana; great-nephews and great-niece, Samuel, Isabella and John; brother, Ford W. (Kelly) Shankle III, of McDonald, Pa.; and nieces, Cheyenne Shankle, of Pittsburgh and Willow Shankle, of New York, NY.  In addition to her parents, Richel was preceded in death by her husband, Terrence Van Camp, who passed away in 1997.  Friends will be received for a Memorial Gathering from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, Pa.  Inurnment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
