Robert Maxwell Silvis Sr., 62, of Kittanning, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born October 1, 1961 in Ottowa, Illinois, the son of the late Robert C. and Susan K. Silvis, and was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County. Robert was a class 1 butcher by trade, working at Toy’s Golden Dawn for 30 years. He was also meat manager at Moraine Pointe Giant Eagle in Butler for thirteen years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending time with his family, porch sitting and going to camp with his best buddies.
Survivors include his wife Mary Silvis, of Kittanning; sons, Robert Silvis Jr. (Yaneya), of Kittanning, Sean Silvis (Jessi), of Kittanning and Phillip Silvis (Aggelgie), of Kittanning; brothers, Jeff (Tina), of Kittanning, Jonathan (Ronna), of Kittanning and Andrew, of Dayton; sisters, Julianne, of North East and Chris (Mike) of Dayton; grandchildren, Lennon Silvis, Abel Silvis, Emely Ramirez, Jade Ramirez and Kaydince Anderson; aunts, Jean Kendall and Judy (Ron) Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Harry; brother, Mark Pennington; sister-in-law, Wanda; and grandparents, Harry and Cora Silvis and Robert and Martha Heilman.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Robert’s honor to St. Paul’s Rector Discretionary Fund, 112 N. Water St., Kittanning, PA 16201 to support local community outreach. Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
