Robert Clair Snyder Obituary

Robert Clair Snyder, 66, of Kittanning, passed away surrounded by family on February 20, 2025 at his home.  A lifelong resident of Kittanning, Robert was born on November 6, 1958 in Kittanning to the late Clair and Virginia Snyder.  Robert worked for many years as an autobody technician and his passion for cars led him to own and operate his own body shop, RC Body Works, for a time.  He also worked at PPG Industries and GIS Automotive.  Throughout his life, Robert embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, passing it down to his oldest daughter, Amanda.  He found joy in all things automotive, whether it was attending car shows with his beloved truck or enjoying go-kart racing on the weekends with his youngest daughter, Christina.

A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Robert cherished his family deeply.  He loved being a pappy and spending time with his grandchildren.  He especially enjoyed playing ball with his dog, Oliver, and could often be found watching NASCAR and working on cars.  Robert was well known for his generous and caring nature.  He was always willing to lend a hand to others and made it a point to help whenever and however he could.  With a great sense of humor, Robert loved making others laugh, often playing pranks that left everyone smiling.  His ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Terrie (Sell) Snyder, of Kittanning; daughters, Amanda (Ryan) McCandless, of Butler and Christina (Randy) Eagler, of Northern Cambria; his grandchildren, Madison Eagler, Waverly McCandless, Blake Eagler, Harper McCandless and Aubree Eagler; his sister, Diane John, of Kittanning; sister, Janet John, of Kittanning; and brother, Raymond Snyder, of Kittanning; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A kind and loving man, Robert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.  He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a love of family.

Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 pm. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.  Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora, Pa.
