Roger Anthony Hagofsky, 75, of Kittanning, PA, passed away at his home on January 27, 2026. Born on February 10, 1950, in Kittanning, he was a lifelong resident of the community he cherished. Roger dedicated his life to hard, hands-on work as a coal miner and water well driller, careers that reflected his resilience, grit, and unwavering work ethic. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a member of Assault Craft Unit One. Roger was a member of the Roman Catholic faith. He found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. He loved hunting, fishing, shooting, playing pool, spending time with family, and tinkering around the garage. Whether outdoors or working on a project, Roger was happiest with something in his hands and loved ones nearby.
Roger is survived by his children: Jennifer McRae and her husband, Chris, of Chesapeake, VA, Catherine Gamble and her husband, Scott, of Kittanning, PA and Roger Hagofsky II and his wife, Alana, of Falling Waters, WV. He was the proud grandfather of: Tyler Snoots, Jordan Moscato and her husband, James, Paige McRae and her partner, Connor, Isabella McRae, Zoey Gamble, Brooke Hagofsky, Fallon Gamble and Kendall Hagofsky. He was also blessed with one great‑grandson, Jamie Moscato.
Roger is survived by his siblings: Randy Hagofsky and his wife, Carol, Alice Hagofsky, Rich Hagofsky and his wife, Joanne, Steve Hagofsky and his wife, Penny and Rose Newmyer and her husband, Randy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents, Edward F. Hagofsky and Catherine L. (Ecker); and his sister, Rita.
Roger will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his devotion to family, and the steady, dependable presence he brought to everyone who knew him.
Friends and family will be received from 12:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning with a vigil prayer service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Juanito G. Lozano officiating.
