Rose Marie (Peters) Schrecengost, 95, of Templeton, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, in Kittanning. She was born May 18, 1930, in Rural Valley, to the late Robert E. and Marie (Geiger) Peters. Rose was a loving mother and wife to Miles Schrecengost, Jr. for 70 years. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses the Kittanning Congregation. Rose Marie lovingly supported her husband, Miles, as he skillfully performed building and carpentry projects in surrounding communities.
She is survived by her brothers, R. Eugene (Bonnie) Peters, of Greensburg, Pa. and Donald L. (Giesla) Peters, of Conway, S.C.; son, Keith E. (Elaine) Schrecengost, of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters: Karen (Ken) Vreeland, of Sparta, Tennessee, Kathy (Jim) Goldinger of Worthington, Pa. and Kim (Peter) Wienke, of Salisbury, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie Peters; brother, Richard G. Peters; her husband, Miles Schrecengost, Jr., who passed away Jan. 26, 2019; and son, Rodger M. Schrecengost.
No official memorial service is planned. However a celebration of Rose Marie's and Miles precious life will continue into the future. Rose Marie inspired many people with her interest in the families of her neighbors, going back nearly one century. Rose Marie was a real "people person" and did her best to live the life of a Christian Wife, Mother and Neighbor.
Memorial contributions can be directed to: "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses" via JW.org. Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
