Roxanna R. "Roxy" (Roofner) Hawkins, 86, of Kittanning, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born June 27, 1939 in Adrian, Pa., the daughter of the late George and Verna (Hill) Roofner. Roxy graduated from East Brady High School, class of 1957 and worked at ACMH Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Roman Catholic Church in Yatesboro, Pa. and also attended St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and tending to her flowers. She loved her family and spending time with them. She also loved being outdoors, where she could be found mowing or planting flowers. Roxy was a loving and devoted grandmother who loved exploring new adventures with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory: her husband of 66 years, James Hawkins, whom she married on Nov. 2, 1958; daughters, Cindy (William) Hawkins-Heilman, of Ohio and Deborah L. (Dr. Frank) Borkowski, of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Brianna (Alexander) Phillips, of Ohio, William (Lindsey) Heilman, of Ohio, Frank, Jr. (Jessica) Borkowski, of Chippewa, Dr. Nicholas Borkowski, of Natrona Heights, Stephen Borkowski, of Natrona Heights, Cailynn Borkowski, of Natrona Heights, James (Sarah) Hawkins III, of Leechburg, Heather Hawkins, of Indiana, Jaime Hawkins, of Ford City and David (Tina) Hawkins, of Ford City; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Georgia (Richard) Heginbotham, of Arkansas. In addition to her parents, Roxy was preceded in death by her sons, David Hawkins and James Hawkins, Jr.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home from 10-10:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, Pa. with the Reverend Juanito G. Lozano as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Kittanning.
