Roy Lee Smith, 82, of Kittanning, died on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.  He was born March 24, 1942 in Rayburn Township to the late Russell and Ella Mae Smith.  Roy was retired and a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kittanning.  He enjoyed vehicle restoration and metal working.  He was an avid hunter and camper.  Roy had a real love for wood working as well, making over 60 rocking chairs for children of the family and friends.  Roy will be remembered as a very loving husband for 62 years and a great father.  

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Joan (Stover) Smith; sons, Roy Smith (Jeannie), of Jamestown, OH and Randy Smith, of Castle Dale, UT; granddaughters, Kristi (Kolte) Bowers, of Boliver, OH, Kylie (Jeremy) Nelson, of Clawson, UT and Brandi (John) Nelson, of Castle Dale, UT; great-grandsons, Kaden and Korbin Bowers, of Boliver, OH, Rylund and Landyn Nelson, of Clawson, UT and Michael and Kolton Nelson, of Castle Dale, UT; brother, Floyd (Judy) Smith, of Kittanning; and sister, Phyllis Atwood, of Kittanning.  In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell, Harry and Kenneth; and sisters, Edna (Tootie), Salla, Sarah and Ann.

Friends will be received from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning with Rev.
