Russell Dean "Tuff" Johns

Russell Dean "Tuff" Johns, 87, of Kittanning, passed away Sunday July 20, 2025 at home. He was born June 28, 1938 in Armstrong County to the late Clayton D. Johns and Doris (Bowser) Smith. 

Russell was a life-long heavy equipment operator as well as an entrepreneur for many local businesses throughout the years. His hobbies include spending time with his family's well as his camp time at camp.

He is survived by his son Jim (Sue) Johns of Ford City; son Randy (Brenda) Johns of Carlton; son Ron (Mary) Johns of Worthington; daughter Deb (Paul) Cressler of Kittanning; son Travis (Erin) Johns; son Russell (Abby) Johns of Kittanning; Janet and Matthew both of Kittanning; sister Judith "Judy" Johns-McCrea (Bob)  of Fenelton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other family members including brother-in-laws and sister -in-laws and several family friends.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Charlotte "Becky" Johns who passed away July 6, 2018; sister Wilma; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends will be received on Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday July 25, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 26, 2025 in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. with his brother-in-law Bob Wyant officiating. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment is in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
