Sandra (Bruce) McIlwain, 85, of Kittanning, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at her home. She was born January 23, 1940 in Kittanning, the daughter of the late William Wallace Bruce and Winifred (Wingard) Bruce-Gall. Sandra was a mother and homemaker who was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning. She enjoyed playing cards competitively with her family and anyone else that dared.
Sandy cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cultivated, encouraged and provided ongoing support to her children and grandchildren, not only in their personal endeavors, but also in their educational pursuits and career aspirations. Sandy was always there for anyone who had a need or needed advice. Her wisdom guided many. She enjoyed and was an accomplished amateur painter concentrating on the beauty of landscapes. And she loved her goats!
She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her daughters, Susan M. (Harry) Zydonik, of Greensburg and Stacey M. (Paul) Wolfe, of Kittanning; grandchildren, McKenzie Zydonik (Duke Brown), of Portsmouth, VA, Zachary (Matthew Care) Zydonik, of Philadelphia, Cassandra Wolfe (Zane Scadden), of Kittanning, Mason Wolfe, of Kittanning, Dylan Wolfe, of Kittanning and Jocelyn Wolfe, of Kittanning; and great-grandchildren, Sky Brown and Aurora Brown, of Portsmouth, VA and Luka Scadden, of Kittanning. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett McIlwain; and her brothers, William Bruce and Robert Bruce.
Viewing and funeral service will be privately held by the family and interment will be in Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
