Sandra Mae "Sonn" "Sonnie" Olinger, 79, of Kittanning, was called home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was born September 16, 1946 in Kittanning, a daughter of the late Alvera M. (Toy) and the late Chesley Olinger. Her passing will leave a very large void for all who knew and loved her.
Sonn devoted her life to the Lord and her loved ones. Her heart was as big as her personality. There was never a time that she was not present and helping in some form when someone she cared about was in need. She loved her animals as fiercely as she did everyone else in her life, and she cared for them with everything she had. She could always make you laugh or be there as a shoulder to cry on if you needed one.
She was a longtime employee of Toy's Golden Dawn until its closure in 2009. Then she worked at Worthington Market until her retirement. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Kittanning, where she was active in the choir and church meals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life long friend Sharon L. Hooks; brother Larry K. Olinger; and sisters-in-law Victoria Olinger and Ida Olinger.
Sonn is survived by her two brothers Rick Olinger of Kittanning and Tim (Linda) Olinger of West Kittanning; nephews Joshua (Sara) Olinger and Steven (Lisa) Olinger; nieces Lisa Fox, Marcia Boyer, and Christine (Chet) Ruffner; she is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also blessed with a best friend of many years, Sandy Shaner, and many members of her church families all of whom she valued and cherished deeply.
Visitation will be held on Monday March 16, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Grace Baptist Church at 527 Butler Road, Kittanning, PA until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Nathan Bramlet and Pastor Daniel Kaminski officiating. Interment is in the Croyle Cemetery in Adrian.
