Obituary
Sharon Porterfield, 73, of Kittanning passed away on May 27, 2023. Sharon was born on October 13, 1949 to Dorothy and Jack Holleran in New Kensington, PA. After Sharon graduated from Clarion, she moved to Kittanning to work for Armstrong School District as a teacher, guidance counselor, and a principal for 36 years. Upon retirement she worked for six years as an elementary education professor at Chatham University. Sharon met her husband Larry of 48 years at Clarion and they went on to have 3 children, Jared, Matt and Lauren. Sharon spent her last years traveling with her husband and absolutely adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sharon is survived by husband, Larry Porterfield; son, Jared Porterfield, his wife Jess Porterfield and their children, Emma and Kain Porterfield; son, Matthew Porterfield, his wife Carla Porterfield and their children, Isaiah and Silas Porterfield; and her daughter, Lauren Porterfield and her husband Paul Swiatocha. Viewing will be held at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home 200 S. McKean St. Kittanning, PA 16201 on Thursday from 4:00pm -8:00pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00am in St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, 101 W High St. Kittanning, PA 16201. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an Alzheimer's Foundation or to breast cancer research.
