Shirley R. (Claypoole) Higginson

Shirley R. Higginson of Worthington, passed away Wednesday October 22, 2025. She was born February 22, 1937 to the late Wade and Vera Claypoole. Shirley was the wife of William Higginson, who processed her in death on Jan 4, 2013. Shirley was the secretary for West Franklin Township for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Franklin Union Baptist Church.  She also belonged to the Women's Mission Circle of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Wade "Junior" Claypoole Jr. and Donald Claypoole; sisters, Bernice Williams, Freda Peechatka, Jean E. Bowser, Doris Wagner and Dorthy Lee Claypoole.

  A graveside service will be held at the Franklin Union Baptist Cemetery, Thursday October 23, 2025 at 3:00 P.M.
