Shirley L. (Reed) Schrecengost, 91, of Kittanning, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2024 at Quality Life Services Sugarcreek.  She was born June 24, 1933 in Dora, Pa., the daughter of the late Grover and Ida Reed, and was a lifelong resident of the community.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in Templeton, Pa.  Shirley was retired and she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and sitting on her porch.  

She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory: her son, Mark (Maryanne) Schrecengost, of Ford City, Pa.; her daughters, Linda (Ron) Barnett, of Rural Valley, Pa., Joyce (Wes) Gahagan, of North Benton, OH and Cindy (Wayne) Loughrey, of Kittanning, Pa.; grandchildren, Melissa (John) Bowser, of Kittanning, Angela (Mike) Six, of Ford City, Justin (Stephanie) Barnett, of Sunderland, MD, Andrew (Brittanny) Barnett, of Rural Valley, Jennifer (Jonny) Crowder, of Winston Salem, NC, Emily (Sean) Sims, of Uniontown, OH and Chris (Maura) Loughrey, of Spring Church, Pa.; and 15 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Reed Schrecengost; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, PA with funeral services to immediately follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Joel Kinnard officiating.  Burial will be in Belknap Cemetery, Dayton, Pa.
