Sidney "Sid" Toy Obituary
Sidney “Sid” Toy
December 29, 1961 – August 8, 2025
Sidney Toy, 63, of Kittanning, PA, wrapped up his final round of life’s golf game on August 8, 2025, at home, after a beautiful stretch of weeks visiting with the people he loved most. Born December 29, 1961, in Kittanning to Sidney and Anna Mae (Reesman) Toy, Sid made every one of his years count—usually with a cold beer (never lite) in hand and the Florida sunshine on his mind.
A graduate of Bowling Green University and a successful Xerox salesman, Sid could talk to anyone—and often did—whether you were ready for it or not. He had a knack for making people laugh, telling stories, and convincing you that golf and hockey were the two greatest sports ever invented. A fixture in the Armstrong Amateur Hockey League for an incredible 52 years, Sid served as a player, coach, and referee, eventually earning a place in the Armstrong Hockey Hall of Fame.
Sid was also a devoted man of faith, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a regular at Sunday mass at the Pauline Fathers Monastery. He was a die-hard Jimmy Buffett fan, known for organizing bus trips to his concerts, making Parrotheads out of many Armstrong County residents. But nothing topped the Kentucky Derby—Sid’s favorite day of the year.
Sid is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Kelly (Waugaman) Toy; his daughter, Chelsea Bartley; his son, Coby Toy; and his grandson, Benny Bartley. He is also survived by his loving mother, Anna Mae Toy; his sisters, Jean (Bob) Kutch and Susan (Wayne) Seibel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Toy, and his sister, Linda Webb.
No longer occupying a seat at the Men’s Club or enjoying a Stanley’s hot sausage, Sid can finally enjoy a Cheeseburger in Paradise. He leaves behind laughter, memories, and the reminder to soak up the sun whenever you can—preferably with a Jimmy Buffett tune playing in the background. Fins Up.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional viewing will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at Kittanning First Baptist Church, 334 Arch St., Kittanning with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Interment will be in Croyle Cemetery, Adrian, Pa.
