Susan Lydia (Toy) Verner, 80, of Worthington, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 in her residence, with her family by her side. She was born on December 13, 1940 in Kittanning to the late Frank & Mary (Bedzyk) Toy. Susan lived in the Kittanning/Worthington area all of her life. In her later years, she and her husband enjoyed spending the winters in Brooksville, Florida. She was a devoted member of the Victory Baptist Church in Kittanning. Susan enjoyed working with her flowers and taking care of her pond. She loved sitting on her swing listening to the birds and her wind chimes. She enjoyed attending church functions and spending time with her family.
Left behind to cherish her memory includes her husband, Gilbert Verner, of Worthington; sons, Douglas Walbert, of Slippery Rock, G.R. Verner (Lorraine), of Boerne, Texas, and Scott Verner, of Green River, Wyoming; daughters, Diana Walbert, of Ford City, Kim Myers (Glen), of Fenelton, Penny Myers, of Ravenna, Michigan, and Zandra Verner (Peter), of Whitehall, Michigan; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved spending time with; and sister, Micki Smith, of Manorville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Walbert; brother, Frank Toy Jr.; and sisters, Mary Jane Wolfe , JoAnn Hallman, and Donna Myers.
Family and friends of Susan Verner will be received on Friday July 30, 2021 in the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear Street, Worthington, Pa 16262 from 6:00 – 9:00pm. Additional viewing will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 in the Victory Baptist Church, 295 Pleasantview Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201 from 9:00am until time of funeral services at 10:00am with Rev. Ray Boltz officiating. Burial will follow in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
