Thomas A. Shankle, 80, of Worthington, Pa. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his home.  He was born in Kittanning, Pa. on September 19, 1945, the son of the late Thomas William "Bud" Shankle, Jr. and Betty Jane (Stover) Shankle.  He was a lifelong resident of the community and a member of Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church.  Thomas was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from PPG.  He enjoyed music, especially singing, woodworking and taking camping trips.  Most of all, Thomas was a wonderful, caring person and a special father and husband.  He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane (Petras) Shankle; sister, Karen (Thomas) Shafer; and special "grand kids", Sadie & Jameson Jack.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Thomas and Ronald Shankle.    

Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, Pa.  Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12, at Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church, 2039 Freeport Rd., Kittanning from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
