Thomas H. Cieply, 72, of Kittanning, died on Sunday, April 17, 2022, in his residence. He was born in Kittanning, PA on December 28, 1949 to the late Henry and Olga (Panczyzyn) Cieply, but was raised in Ford City, PA. He proudly graduated in 1967 from Ford City High School and enlisted in the US Navy. He served in the Vietnam War while stationed on the USS Constellation. He was a member of the Kittanning Eagles and the CU Club and had life memberships in the VFW, Pattonville, Polish Falcons, Ford City, and American Legion, Cowansville.
Tom was a retired DOD Military Technician in Personnel Records and Automotive Repair and a retired a Sergeant First Class from the PA Army National Guard. In addition to his family, Tom loved bowling, riding his 1973 Honda motorcycle, pistachios, shooting pool, mowing his grass, washing and waxing his vehicles, most sports, but especially drag racing, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Buccos! Tom was a Very Talented Handyman, but he mostly enjoyed building models and woodworking in his spare time. Tom was Very Dedicated to His Family and Country!
Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife Patricia (Claypoole) of which they celebrated 30 years of marriage on December 6, 2021 and his children Tim (Allison) Crytzer, Sr. , Chris (Randy) Williams, Vanessa (Kevin) Sitch, Trena Slee, Nicole Cieply and significant other Chris Curry, and dog Chloe and his grandchildren Miranda Williams and significant other Luke Prazenica, Jenna (Logan) Kaplon, Timmy Crytzer, Jr. and significant other Emily Guthrie, Krissy (Michael) Cooper, Taniel Crytzer, Jacob Miller, Cameron Anderson and significant other Ciara, Thomas Miller, and Alyssa Miller and Great-grandson Brooks Kaplon. Tom is also survived by his sisters Monica Olinger and Eileen (Marion) Bartosiewicz. He is survived by sister-in-law Donna (Stan) Petras and brother-in-law Dale Claypoole and 6 nieces and nephews to include nephew Andy (Lonya) Bartosiewicz. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Betty Claypoole, sisters-in-law Cheryl Taleff and Trish Claypoole and brothers-in-law Gary Olinger and James Taleff.
Family and friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, PA. Additional viewing will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home. Full military honors with burial will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, PA.
