Vesta (Shannon) Potter Csir, 90, of Kittanning, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, in Quality Life Services-Sugarcreek.
She was born in Garretts Run, on Aug. 14, 1932, to her parents, Hattie (McGinnis) Shannon and Alexander Phillip Shannon.
Vesta was a member of the Kittanning High School class of 1950. She previously worked at the old Kittanning Hospital, Friedman Corp of Butler, Pa. and the Thrift Drug Store. Vesta attended the Union Avenue United Methodist Church in Kittanning. She was a member of the Armstrong County Historical Society, a lifetime member of Post 249 Butler VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as the secretary for several years. Her hobbies consisted of bird watching, cards, flea markets, yard sales, crafts and antiquing.
Vesta is survived by one son, Ronald (Linda) Potter; one daughter, Lorene (Daniel) Sukala; three grandsons: Ryan Potter, Ross Potter and Cory Sukala; five great-grandsons: Keith, Colton, Maverick and Sullivan Potter, and Emmet Sukala; also surviving is Brian Smicklo, whom she raised as a son; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael “Bolo” Csir; sisters, Myrna Smith and Dorothy Ayers; brothers: Arthur, Andrew and Floyd Cunningham; and her beloved friend of 84 years, Patricia (Lyle) Bowser.
Family and friends of Vesta Csir will be received from 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deborah Kociban officiating.
Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
