Walter Harold Dougherty, 79, of Kittanning, passed away Wednesday October 30, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 27, 1945 in Worthington to the late Harold Symon and Phyllis Mae Dougherty.
Walter was a retired truck driver from Ward Trucking and a member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church.
Walter and his wife Jackie were active with their church, he was an avid NFL Football and NASCAR races fan, he enjoyed camping and always " LOVED" spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters Luci (Eric) Sanoba of Kittanning and Betsy (Steve) Wranich of Kittanning; granddaughter Lacy (Max) Parmelee-Sanoba of Pittsburgh; grandson Mike (Kendra) Wranich of Ford Cliff; great-grandson Chase Wranich of Ford cliff; great-grandson Rowan Parmelee-Sanoba of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews; his cat buddy Felix.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Jackie; infant daughter Candy; his parents; sisters Geraldine, Barbara, and Nancy; his grandparents and aunts and uncles.
Friends and family will be received on Friday November 1, 2024 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The family requests a private funeral service be held at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning with Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Interment is in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
In. lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Walter's honor to the Alzheimers Association.
