William J. McGrew

William J. “Bill” McGrew, 88, of Cowansville, passed away at his daughter’s home on Monday, October 16, 2023. He was born on January 17, 1935 in Greensburg, Pa. to the late Clarence “Chippy” and Ella McGrew. Bill loved feeding the birds and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (Shawn) Leightley, of Ford City and Billie Jo (Mindy) McGrew, of Ford City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Rothwell, of Kittanning, Barry Rothwell, of Natrona Heights and Bobby (Carol) Rothwell, of Plum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis J. McGrew; his brother, Fritzy Rothwell; and great-aunt, Leona Johns.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 East Brady Rd., Cowansville, Pa. with funeral service to immediately follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Fair Cemetery in Cowansville.
