William E. Spencer Obituary

William E. Spencer, of Worthington, went peacefully during the night in Concordia at Cabot on May 12, 2026.  Bill was born May 31, 1928 in Ford City to William and Ruby (Hoover) Spencer.  Bill served in the U.S. Navy.  After the Navy, he worked at the A&P in Ford City, then he worked at PPG in Ford City and Carlisle where he retired.  He moved back to Worthington after retirement.  He loved mowing his grass, eating out and watching YouTube on T.V.  Bill married Peggy Foster and had one daughter, Christine (Alan) Bowser.  He has one grandson, Jason (Holly) Bowser.  After Peggy's death, he married Bernie (Tirpak-Tate) and has her children as step-children: Joseph (Valerie) Tate, Peter (Melanie) Tate and son-in-law, Dale Ferrone.  Bill has one surviving sister, Deloris Nulph.  He has a number of step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter, Patricia Tate-Ferrone, and two siblings, Orville Spencer and Wilba Delaney.  Friends will be received on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. at F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, Pa.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. with The Very Reverend Eric J. Dinga, V.F. as celebrant, with an additional hour of viewing prior to the service.  Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.  The family would like to extend extreme thankfulness to Good Samaritan Hospice Concordia for all their excellent care.
