Woodrow “Woodie” Kirkwood Jr., 86, of Ford City, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. He was born August 23, 1935 in East Kittanning to the late Woodrow Sr. and Cleo A. (Umbaugh) Kirkwood, and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a business man. Woodie was a Korean War veteran. He belonged to the Pleasant Union Lutheran Church where he served on church council for 12 years. He belonged to the VFW Post 6555, the American Legion, and DAV where he served on post, county, and district councils in various positions. He had a degree in business and accounting, and letters (certificates) from the U.S. Air Force, and letter of commendation while in the Army.
Survivors include his son, Woodrow (Sally) Kirlwood III, of Kittanning; grandsons, Bradley and Kristopher Kirkwood; granddaughter, Sarah Kirkwood; daughter, Karen Sue Nulph; grandchildren, Tiria Creel; son, Roy A. (Beth) Kirkwood; grandson, Brady Kirkwood; stepdaughter, Cindy Atherton; stepson, Chuck (Kathy) Booher; step-grandchildren, Michael (Jess) Atherton, Matt (Hannah) Booher, and Haley (Keith) Myers; several great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Kirkwood; and sister, Penny Kirkwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann Kirkwood, who passed away Aug. 20, 2011; sisters, Betty Ammerman, Vivian Campbell, and Kathrine.
Services are private and under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
